Lehigh Falls to Seton Hall on the Road

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J - Lehigh's men's swimming and diving team hit the road for the second time this season to face Seton Hall. The Mountain Hawks took their second loss of the season, falling 155-85 to the Pirates.Â
The meet started with the diving events, where graduate student Jack Grotke picked up a pair of fourth place finishes. He scored 163.27 points in the three-meter dive, and 177.45 at the one-meter height.
The Mountain Hawks picked up three wins in the competition. Lehigh took all three podium spots in the 1000-yard freestyle, led by senior Alfredo Figueroa Sedano. Figueroa Sedano hit the wall first at 9:57.81, followed by sophomore Will Pestrichelli (9:57.86) close behind in second and first-year Christian McAuley (10:08.99) in third. Senior Ben Kisker championed the 100-yard backstroke, swimming 51.28. In the 50-yard freestyle, sophomore Chase Bearley led the field with a time of 21.24.Â
Lehigh also had a handful of podium finishes in the other events. First-years Spencer Ridge and TJ Hayes each earned themselves second place finishes. Ridge narrowly missed first in the 100-yard breaststroke, swimming 59.64. Hayes got his second place finish in the 500-yard freestyle, closing in 4:44.98. He was trailed closely behind by fellow first-year Jake Greenleaf, who placed third with a time of 4:45.70. Greenleaf also secured the third spot over 200-yards freestyle swimming, hitting the wall in 1:43.76. Also finishing top three was sophomore Jared Rabadam (2nd, 51.43) and Bearley (3rd, 52.66) in the 100-yard freestyle, and first year Andrew Takach (3rd, 1:58.50) in the 200-yard individual Medley.
The Mountain Hawks are back at home for their next competition. They face Lafayette at Jacobs Pool on Friday, November 21 for this year's edition of The Rivalry, presented by Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute, part of Jefferson Health.
