Klebe's School Record Highlights Three-Meet Day For Lehigh Women

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Junior Abby Klebe broke her own school record in the 1000 meters, highlighting a three-meet Saturday for the Lehigh women's track and field team. Klebe's record run came at Penn's Quaker Invitational, as Lehigh competed in Philadelphia for the second straight week. Other Mountain Hawks competed at the Moravian Indoor Meet at Rauch Fieldhouse, while Lehigh sent a contingent of throwers to Navy's Wesley Brown Invitational in Annapolis, Md.

Quaker Invitational
Klebe ran 2:49.22 to win the 1000 meters, breaking her previous school mark of 2:51.00 set in the 2023 Fast Times Before Finals Meet. Senior Lauryn Heskin finished sixth in the 1000 with a PR time of 2:55.80.

Junior Grace Kennedy took second in the 400m with a PR time of 56.31 seconds. First-year Jade Sanders also posted a PR in the event, finishing ninth at 59.37. Kennedy also led a three-runner Lehigh contingent in the 200m, finishing 11th with a time of 25.38.

In the 500m, senior Svea Wickelgren finished fifth and moved into third place all-time with a run of 1:14.93.

Senior Savanah Beavers led three Lehigh runners in the mile, finishing ninth with a PR time of 5:06.32.

Senior Maddison Hayes finished 12th in the 3000m with a time of 10:28.99, while sophomore Grace Hughes set a new PR running 10:37.31.

Junior Gianna Mangili finished 17th in the 60m with a time of 7.94.

In the long jump, junior Grace Nation led three Lehigh competitors with an effort of 5.10m.

In the 4x400m relay Lehigh's "A" team of first-year Lauren Bower, Klebe, Wickelgren and Kennedy finished fifth and moved into third all-time with a time of 3:52.79,

Wesley Brown Invitational
Junior Grace Aggen had a pair of PRs and a top 10 all-time mark for the Mountain Hawks at Navy. Aggen finished second in the shot put with a distance of 13.42m, good for sixth all-time. She also posted a PR of 13.74 to finish sixth in the weight throw.

Sophomore Avery Dowkus led Lehigh in the weight throw, finishing fourth at 15.44m. Dowkus also was fourth in the shot put with a throw of 12.81m.

First-year Emily Kolodziej placed fifth (14.28m) in the weight throw and sixth (11.99m) in the shot put. Junior Jennifer Whipple also competed in the weight throw, finishing seventh with a throw of 13.0m.

Moravian Indoor Meet
Senior Shelby Dejana led three Mountain Hawks in the 60m hurdles, winning the event with a time of 9.14.

First-year Isabel Owens won the 800m with a time of 2:23.50, with sophomore Aurora Wilson taking second with a time of 2:25.36.

In field events, sophomore Gaea DePass won the high jump, clearing a personal best 1.70m, while senior Izabel Fronc finished third (1.60m).

First-years Madeline Hussey and Olvia Dubrow found success in the throws, with Hussey winning the shot put (11.70m) with Dubrow (11.55m) taking second, and then Dubrow finishing sixth in the weight throw (13.79m) with Hussey finishing 17th (11.33m).

In the pole vault, junior Laura Reigle took second, clearing 3.63m, while first-year Corinn Brewer finished third at 3.18m.
First-year Jackie Gifford too fifth in the mile with a time of 5:29.05. In the 400m, first-year Adelaide Videon-Perino finished fourth with a time of 1:01.76 to lead the Lehigh contingent in the event.

In the 5000m, first-years Kaitlyn Highduch and Chloe Brown took second and third, respectively, with times of 18:13.62 and 18:47.83.

Lehigh's Distance Medley Relay of Isabel Owens, Amber Barrios, Aurora Wilson and Kaya Meler won their race with a time of 12:51.71.

The 4x400m relay team consisting of Brewer, Videon-Perino, sophomore Mila Jovanovic and sophomore Iciar Gorospe Valenzuela took first with a time of 4:15.16.

The Mountain Hawks will head to New York City next Saturday for Columbia's Dr. Sander Scorcher.
