ITHACA, N.Y. – No. 19 Lehigh and No. 12 Cornell split their 10 bouts 5-5 Sunday afternoon at Newman Arena but the host Big Red posted bonus points in four of their five wins to knock off the Mountain Hawks 23-19.
Â
Lehigh picked up bonus points by way of a pair of technical falls at 197 and 285 by senior Michael Beard and graduate student Owen Trephan. The Mountain Hawks also got big wins from junior Carter Bailey and senior Malyke Hines over ranked opponents at 141 and 149, respectively but a 4-0 stretch from 157 through 184 that included three bonus wins propelled Cornell to the victory.
