
Lehigh Hits the Road for Sunday Battle at Army

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh women's basketball will hit the road for a matchup at Army on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Christl Arena. The Mountain Hawks are 11-4 (2-1 PL) and the Black Knights are 11-2 (3-0 PL).Â
Lehigh was on a five-game win streak before suffering a 70-66 loss to Colgate on Jan. 8. Down by as many as 22 points in the third quarter, Lehigh clawed back to pull within three points with four seconds remaining, but the Mountain Hawks ran out of time.
Fifth-year wing Maddie Albrecht paced the way with a game and season-tying 21 points in the loss. Albrecht shot 7-of-13 from the field. She continues to lead the Patriot League in field goal percentage (51.3%). The Billings, Mont., native has put together an incredible season so far, finishing in double figures in 12 of Lehigh's 14 games. She's averaging a team-high 14.9 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game.Â
Sophomore guard Gracyn Lovette also finished in double figures against Colgate, recording a career-tying 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting. First-year forward Belle Bramer, sophomore forward Whitney Lind and junior forward Lily Fandre all finished with seven points apiece.Â
The Black Knights come into Sunday's game on a four-game winning streak. Army is coming off of a 70-55 win against Loyola on Jan. 8. Kya Smith led the way with 16 points. Resse Ericson (14 points) and Camryn Tade (13 points) also finished in double figures.Â
Trinity Hardy is the lone Black Knight averaging double figures, she is putting up 14.5 points per game.Â
Lehigh averages 68.8 points per game and Army averages 62.9 points per game. Sunday's game will feature the league's top two-scoring defenses. The Mountain Hawks are second in scoring defense, holding opponents to 58.1 points per game and the Black Knights give up a league-best 53.1 points per game.
Lehigh is 40-36 all-time against Army. The Mountain Hawks have won the last four meetings. Lehigh picked up a 64-51 win against the Black Knights in the most recent meeting on March 6, 2024. Albrecht had a career-high game, scoring 28 points while corralling 10 rebounds for a double-double.
