Lehigh Leads Navy Fall Invitational After Opening 18 Holes

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – With two players in the top five leading the way, the Lehigh women's golf team holds the team lead after round one of the Navy Fall Invitational Saturday at the Naval Academy Golf Club.
 
Sophomore Stefania Fedun and senior Madison Pineda shot 72 and 73 respectively, as the Mountain Hawks shot 300, tied for the fifth lowest round in program history, to lead a 15-team field after 18 holes of play.
 
The Mountain Hawks lead host Navy by one stroke, while Queens University is in third place, four strokes back.
 
Fedun's 72 featured one birdie, one bogey and 16 pars. She is tied for third place at even par, one stroke behind co-leaders Maria Fernanda Calleja Pineda of Wagner and Emma Tang of Navy.
 
Pineda made four birdies in her opening round 73 and is tied for fifth place.
 
First-year Reese Hannon shot 75 and is tied for 22nd place, while junior Yuki Zhu is tied for 25th after a 76. Hannon made a pair of birdies Saturday, while Zhu carded one.
 
Making her season debut, sophomore Bella Scanapicco shot 82, with one birdie, and is tied for 44th place.
 
The Navy Fall Invitational concludes Sunday with the final 18 holes, beginning at 9 a.m.
