Lehigh Nets Best Score Of Opening Tournament Tuesday At Boilermaker Classic

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Lehigh women's golf team saved its best round of the fall-opening Boilermaker Classic for the final round, with the Mountain Hawks shooting 312 Tuesday at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex. Facing a field that included an SEC program and three Big Ten teams, Lehigh finished 14th with a final total of 953 (322-319-312).

Tuesday's final round included three rounds in the 70s from Mountain Hawk golfers.

Sophomore Reese Hannon led the way for Lehigh, tying for 18th place at five over par 221 (71-73-77). Hannon began the day in sixth place at even par and despite shooting five over on Tuesday, her total of 221 matched the third-lowest 54-hole score in program history. She carded two birdies in her final round and 11 for the tournament.

Lehigh's low round Tuesday was turned in by sophomore Alana Hall, who shot three over par 75 and finished in 70th place at 241 (88-78-75). Hall made a pair of birdies in Tuesday's round.

Senior Yuki Zhu (80-83-82—245) and junior Stefania Fedun (83-85-78—246) were separated by just one stroke. Both players made one birdie in their final rounds.

Junior Bella Scanapicco closed with an 87 and finished at 267 (89-91-87).

Ole Miss edged Indiana by a single stroke to win the team title. The Rebels finished at two under par 862.

Indiana's Madison Dabagia was the individual medalist at seven under par 209.

The Mountain Hawks will be back in action at the Battle at the Creek, Sept. 15-16 in Rehoboth Beach, Del.
