Opening Round 293 Helps Lehigh To Third Place On Day One At Battle At The Creek

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – The Lehigh women's golf team shot 606 on day one of the Battle at the Creek Monday at King's Creek Country Club. The Mountain Hawks opened the day with a 293, the second-lowest 18-hole team score in program history, and then shot 313 in the afternoon as Lehigh sits in third place in a 15-team field at 606.

Junior Stefania Fedun leads the way for Lehigh with two rounds of two over par 73 to sit at four over par 146. Fedun is tied for fourth place. She made one birdie in Monday's morning round and three in the afternoon.

Senior Yuki Zhu is tied for 22nd place at 11 over par 153 (76-77). Zhu carded one birdie in each round Monday.

Sophomore Alana Hall and first-year Alisia Ren are tied for 33rd place at 156. Hall went 74-82 Monday with two birdies in the afternoon. Her first round included 16 pars, one bogey and one double bogey. Ren made her collegiate debut with three birdies in a morning 75 and then shot 81 Monday afternoon.

Sophomore Reese Hannon shot even par 71 in round one, her second 71 in as many tournaments, but shot 86 in the afternoon and is tied for 40th place at 157. Hannon made two birdies and two bogeys along with 14 pars in round one.

Behind rounds of 297 and 295 Bucknell holds the team lead, with the Bison at 592 leading Columbia by one stroke.

Jessie Burch from tournament host Sacred Heart holds the individual lead at even par 142. She holds a two stroke lead over two players and a four stroke lead over a group that includes Fedun.

The Battle at the Creek concludes Tuesday with the final 18 holes of play.
