Lehigh And Bucknell Set To Face Off Prior To Patriot League Championships

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh women's rowing returns to the water after taking three weeks away from competition. The Mountain Hawks will travel west on Sunday to take on Patriot League rival Bucknell in multiple races.
The Mountain Hawks and Bison met each other in Lewisburg back in the fall, facing one another in first varsity, second varsity and novice races. Lehigh was victorious over Bucknell in both the first and second varsity races, beating the Bison 6:35.5 to 6:49.36 in the 1v8 and 6:43.64 to 6:45.54 in the 2v8. In the novice race, Bucknell's A team was victorious, but Lehigh finished ahead of the Bison's B and C boats by over 21 and 34 seconds.
The Lehigh women last competed at the Knecht Cup in Cherry Hill, N.J. on April 14 where the Mountain Hawks raced first and second varsity boats as well as a varsity four and novice four. The novice four had the top finish of any Lehigh boat, placing fourth out of 16 boats in the race.
Following their meet, both teams will be out of action until the Patriot League championships on Friday, May 17.
