BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Only one week remains in the regular season for Lehigh baseball, and only one more game at J. David Walker Field remains on their schedule. The Mountain Hawks will host the Wagner Seahawks in the team's final non-league game of the season on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
Lehigh (21-21-1, 7-14 PL) hosted Holy Cross for a three-game series this past weekend, earning a 3-1 victory over the Crusaders in game one while dropping games two and three. The Mountain Hawks are currently in sixth place in the Patriot League, but do have a path to the postseason. Lehigh needs to win the rest of their remaining Patriot League games (two at Army West Point, two at Holy Cross) while Lafayette must sweep Holy Cross and be swept by Army West Point in consecutive doubleheaders this weekend in order to qualify for the postseason.
Wagner (21-21) enters Wednesday's contest off the heels of a three-game sweep of Maryland Eastern Shore over the weekend. The Seahawks have had a great conference season, holding an 18-6 record in the NEC. The Mountain Hawks and Seahawks hold a 12-12 record against one other all-time, however, Wednesday's game will be the first meeting between the two schools since 2004.
Following Wednesday's game, the Mountain Hawks will be on the road for two final Patriot League doubleheaders over the weekend. Lehigh will first take on Army West Point in two games on Saturday before concluding the regular season with a Sunday doubleheader at Holy Cross.
