
Mountain Hawks Close out Non-League Slate At No. 14 Princeton

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh men's lacrosse closes out its non-league slate with a ranked matchup at No. 14 Princeton on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Mountain Hawks are coming off a 12-10 loss to Loyola. Lehigh enters Tuesday's game with a 4-5 record. The Tigers are 6-3 this season after winning their last two games.Â
Tuesday's game will mark the fourth time Lehigh plays a ranked opponent this season.The Mountain Hawks are 0-3 this season against ranked foes. Â
Lehigh held a 4-2 lead early in the first quarter against Loyola, but after the Greyhounds scored the next three goals to take their first lead of the game they would remain in control for the remainder of the game.
Senior midfielder Quinn Armstrong led the way with a team-high of four points (3G, 1A). Armstrong ranks third on the team in scoring with 21 points (16 G, 5A). Dakota Eierman (2G) and Andrew Kelly (2G, 1A) were the only players besides Armstrong to net multiple goals against Loyola. After scoring just one goal last season, Kelly has emerged as a key contributor on offense, sitting second on the team in points with 21 (16G, 5A). Kelly has recorded seven multiple-point games.Â
Junior faceoff specialist Sean Dow earned a Patriot League Honorable Mention on Monday following his dominating performance at the stripe against the Greyhounds. Dow won 19-of-26 attempts at the faceoff "x" and grabbed nine ground balls. Dow owns a 52.2% win percentage at the stripe.Â
The Tigers most recently defeated Dartmouth 15-5 on March 30. Coulter Mackesy scored a game-high of four goals against the Big Green. Mackesy leads the team with 37 points (21G, 16A). Nate Kabiri is second on the team in scoring with 31 points (24G, 7A).Â
Lehigh is 3-15-1 all-time against Princeton. The last time these two teams met was in 2017, with the Mountain Hawks pulling off a 15-10 win against then No. 13/14 Princeton.Â
Following Tuesday's game, the Mountain Hawks host Holy Cross on senior day at the Ulrich Sports Complex on Saturday at 1 p.m.
