Perich And Ermigiotti Take Home Patriot League Weekly Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After a 4-0 week that saw the Mountain Hawks pick up wins over Delaware and Queens University of Charlotte, two Lehigh baseball players have earned Patriot League weekly awards. Rafe Perich was named Player of the Week while Julio Ermigiotti earned Rookie of the Week honors.
The Mountain Hawks (7-3) started their week off with a midweek test against the Delaware Blue Hens on Tuesday, picking up a 10-9 win. The team then traveled south for the third consecutive weekend for a three-game series against Queens in Charlotte. Lehigh won all three games to carry a four-game winning streak into their next week of action.
Perich had an impressive week both at the plate and on the mound. He batted .500 off of seven hits with seven RBIs, two doubles and two home runs while scoring four runs himself. In addition, Perich tossed 2.1 innings as a relief pitcher for Lehigh, striking out six while earning the save in game three. Perich hit 2-5 with three RBIs in game one, 2-4 with an RBI in game two and 1-3 in game three.
Ermigiotti wins his second Rookie of the Week award this season after picking up his first career win in game two against Queens. The first-year from Doylestown, Pa. entered the game in relief to throw 5.1 scoreless innings while striking out six batters. Ermigiotti has posted a 0.00 ERA through 8.0 innings pitched in two career appearances.
The Mountain Hawks return to play this upcoming weekend for a three-game series against Mount St. Mary's. Game one against the Mountaineers will take place at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 8 in Emmitsburg.
