
Lehigh Begins Road Swing at Marist

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh women's tennis begins its five-match road swing with a matchup at Marist on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. The Mountain Hawks are 7-2 this season, surpassing their win total from last season after defeating Seton Hall 4-0 on Feb. 24Â
Junior Allyce Gaborik earned her first Patriot League honorable mention of the season on Feb. 27 after she went 2-0 against the Pirates last week, winning both her singles match and doubles match.
The Mountain Hawks have been impressive in doubles play, losing just one doubles point all season to Drexel. The duo of Hamsa Javagal and Audrey Harrington have been dominant in doubles play, winning all seven of their matches. Harrington played without Javagal in just two doubles matches, winning both of those to improve to 9-0 in doubles play.Â
After missing two matches against Johns Hopkins and Binghamton, Javagal returned to her winning ways last week, picking up a 3-6, 6,-2, 6-2 win at the No. 1 singles spot.
The Red Foxes are 2-9 this season. The two teams have both faced Hofstra and Binghamton this season. Marist lost to Hofstra 6-1 on Feb. 4, and the Mountain Hawks defeated the Pride 5-2 on Feb. 11. Marist beat Binghamton 5-2 on Feb. 11, and Lehigh swept Binghamton 7-0 on Feb. 18.Â
Following Saturday's match, Lehigh will travel north to face UMass, March 10 at 11 a.m.Â
