
Lehigh Closes out Road Stand at Brown

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh women's basketball will close out its three-game road stand at Brown on Sunday at 12 p.m. at the Pizzitola Sports Center. Sunday's game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
The Mountain Hawks picked up their first B1G victory in program history on Nov. 10 and their first win over a power four team since 2010 after defeating Northwestern 85-68. Lehigh shot the lights out, scoring 18 three-pointers, the second-most in program history. The Mountain Hawks did so effectively, shooting a blistering 54.5% from long range.Â
Lehigh also shot well from the field, making a season-high 29 field goals on 62 attempts (46.8%). The Mountain Hawks finished with a season-high of 24 assists and senior Colleen McQullen had a career-high 10 assists. Sophomore guard Gracyn Lovette finished with a career-high seven assists.Â
Junior forward Lily Fandre also had a career-high day against the Wildcats, notching 26 points with six made three-pointers. Senior guard Ella Stemmer connected on a season-high five three-pointers.
Stemmer has made at least three three-pointers in the last three games. The Ann Arbor, Mich., native has made 155 three-pointers, the seventh-most in program history. She needs just three more to tie Carli Tolver for the sixth-most three-pointers in program history.Â
Fifth-year guard Maddie Albrecht (15 points) also finished in double figures against Northwestern. The Billings, Mont., native was named the Patriot League Player of the Week on Nov. 11 after averaging 15 points, 5 rebounds and 2.3 assists while shooting 50% from the field in a 2-1 week for Lehigh. Albrecht is the only Mountain Hawk to finish in double figures in all three games.
This will be Brown's second straight Patriot League opponent of the early season after falling 68-53 to Holy Cross on Nov. 13. The Bears come into Sunday's game with a 1-2 record. Through three games played, Brown is led by Grace Arnolie, who is averaging 14 points per game.Â
Lehigh and Brown have both been effective from long range so far. The Mountain Hawks are averaging 10.7 three-pointers per game and the Bears are averaging 8.3 three-pointers per game.
Sunday's game will mark the first meeting between the teams since 2007. Lehigh is 5-7 all-time against Brown, but the Mountain Hawks have won the last two meetings.
Following Sunday's game, the Mountain Hawks will return to Stabler Arena when they host Hofstra on Friday at 6 p.m.Â
