Lehigh Takes on Bucknell in First Road Test of the New Year

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh women's basketball will travel to Lewisburg, Pa., to take on Bucknell on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the first road test of the new year.
The Mountain Hawks are looking to rebound and catch their first Patriot League win of the season after dropping the last four games. Lehigh has an overall record of 8-5 (0-2 PL), and the Bison have a record of 3-10 (0-2 PL).
Wednesday's game will be a rematch of the 2023 Patriot League Quarterfinals, where the Mountain Hawks defeated the Bison 63-55. Lehigh also won both regular season games last season to help secure the first series sweep against Bucknell since 2011. Lehigh is 48-51 all-time against Bucknell.
In Lehigh's last outing against Loyola on Jan. 6,, sophomore forward Lily Fandre scored a career-high of 25 points after going 9-of-17 from the field. Fandre, who was named to the Patriot League All-Rookie team last season, has had a strong start her sophomore season. She is second on the team in scoring with 13.6 points per game and is also corralling 4.5 rebounds per game.
Ella Stemmer is the only other Mountain Hawks besides Fandre that is averaging double-figures. Steamer is averaging a team-high of 16.2 points per game.
Meghan O'Brien is close to averaging double figures as she is scoring 9.5 points per game. O'Brien is also leading the team with 6.8 rebounds per game.
Colleen McQuillen is leading the Patriot League with 4.7 assists per game to go along with her 8.3 points per game. McQuillen has six games where she has recorded at least five assists.
Wednesday's game will also mark the first time junior guard and Bucknell transfer Remi Sisselman will face up against her former team. Sisselman played two years for the Bison before switching over to the Mountain Hawks. Sisselman is averaging 7.1 points per game and 4.2 rebounds per game.
The Bison are also searching for their first Patriot League win of the season. Bucknell is currently on a three-game losing streak, including Patriot League losses to Holy Cross and American.
The Bison are led by Emma Theodorsson and Ashley Sofilkanich. Theodrosson is averaging a team-high 11.5 points per game, and Sofilkanich is next with 10.2 points per game.
Through 13 games played this season, Lehigh leads the Patriot League in scoring with 74.2 points per game, and the Bison are last in scoring with 50.7 points per game.
