STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - The indoor track and field team had its first collective meet of 2024, competing in the Penn 10-Team Select at Ocean Breeze in Staten Island, N.Y.

Saturday's performance was highlighted by junior Casey Talamini-Kelemen winning the triple jump. Five women earned PR's in the unscored meet.

SPRINTS
In the 60m dash, sophomore Gianna Mangili earned sixth place with a time of 7.88. Sophomore Grace Kennedy (58:07) placed fifth in the 400, while junior Svea Wickelgren claimed eighth with 58.58.

Junior Ashley Struck took tenth in the 200 after clocking 25.63, as first-year Kasey White earned a PR of 26.57.

MID-DISTANCE/DISTANCE
Senior Christina Yakaboski ran 5:01.97 in the mile, good for seventh place. Fellow senior Lindsay MacLellan followed behind with a PR of 5:03.73.

Three Mountain Hawks earned top-10 finishes in the 800 with Abby Klebe in second (2:41.93), Lauryn Heskin taking fifth (2:17.75) and senior Simone Davey claiming seventh (2:18.55).

Junior Savanah Beavers took ninth in the 3000m with a PR of 9:58.48.

JUMPS
In the long jump, junior Lauren Roy was the top finisher for the Mountain Hawks, claiming fifth with 5.19m. Sophomore Grace Nation (5.15m) and Talamini-Kelemen (5.13) landed in seventh and eighth, respectively. Talamini-Kelemen won the triple jump with a jump of 11.59m.

Competing in the pole vault for the first time since her record-breaking performance last semester, sophomore Laura Reigle took second place with a jump of 3.80m.

THROWS
First-year Avery Dowkus landed eighth with a PR of 12.57m in the shot put. Dowkus went on to earn fifth in the weight throw with 14.58m, while teammate Jennifer Whipple claimed tenth with a PR of 13.72m.

The Mountain Hawks make the trek back to Ocean Breeze next weekend for the Villanova Invitational.
