BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After two weeks of fall competition, the Mountain Hawks will now play host for the Lehigh Hidden Dual this weekend. Singles and doubles matches will be played at the Lewis Indoor Tennis Center on Saturday and Sunday.
The Ulrich Varsity Tennis Courts were originally scheduled to be used during the Hidden Dual, but due to inclement weather, all activity has been moved indoors. Lehigh will be joined by Rider, FDU, and rival Lafayette this weekend. There will be eight game pro sets in singles with a regular tiebreaker at 7-7 and one regular set in doubles with a regular tiebreaker at 6-6.
Play will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday in singles format between Lehigh and Lafayette. FDU and Rider will follow suit before the first doubles matches of the weekend begin. The Mountain Hawks will face Rider in doubles first followed by FDU vs. Lafayette. The first day of action concludes in singles play with Lehigh taking on FDU and Lafayette facing Rider.
Lehigh and Lafayette will again open play at the Hidden Dual on Sunday, this time facing one another in doubles. Rider and FDU will follow with a doubles match of their own before the final round of singles play commences, which will feature Lehigh vs. Rider and Lafayette vs. FDU. Finally, the weekend will conclude in doubles play with Lehigh taking on FDU and Lafayette facing Rider.
The Mountain Hawks competed at the Army Shootout last weekend, facing the likes of FDU as well as Patriot League members Army and Holy Cross among the teams competing. Lehigh will have another chance to face the Knights and see more league competition in Lafayette this weekend. Following the Hidden Dual, the Mountain Hawks are set to compete in ITA Regionals in Philadelphia October 6-9.
