
Lehigh Ties SJU in Home Opener

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's soccer team tied Saint Joseph's 1-1 on Thursday afternoon at Ulrich Sports Complex.
  
Junior Faith Dobosiewicz netted the lone goal for the Mountain Hawks.
 
At 33:35, Saint Joseph's Nicole Everard headed the ball into the back of the net off an assist from Natalee Vicari, taking a 1-0 lead over Lehigh.
 
At 76:43, senior Ava Schaller dished the ball to Dobosiewicz who evened the score at one apiece. This was the junior transfer's first collegiate goal and Schaller's first assist this season.
 
Saint Joseph's Nicole Angelini nearly gave the Hawks the lead in the 86th minute, but Lehigh goalkeeper Maggie Ousouljoglou got a hand on the ball to redirect it over the crossbar.
 
Ousouljoglou played all 90 minutes in net, making five saves and allowing one goal. Her Saint Joseph's counterpart, Katie Cappelletti, made four saves and allowed one goal in her 90 minutes.
 
The Mountain Hawks hit the road for back-to-back games, heading to Cornell on Sunday for a 1 p.m. start followed by an August 31 matchup at Temple. Lehigh returns to the Ulrich Sports Complex at 1 p.m. on Sept. 3 when the Mountain Hawks host Penn.
