
Mountain Hawks Fall at Princeton in Non-League Finale

PRINCETON, N.J. – Playing its final non-league game of the season the Lehigh women's soccer team fell 5-1 to Princeton Tuesday night at Roberts Stadium. The defending Ivy League champions scored twice in the game's first 18 minutes and never looked back.
Sophomore Taylor Latini netted her second goal of the season in the 84th minute to put the Mountain Hawks on the scoreboard. Lehigh falls to 3-9-3 on the season.
Five different players scored for Princeton (5-5-3). Goals from Dylan Jovanovic and Alexandra Barry put the Tigers up 2-0 after 17:25. Isabella Garces scored 4:15 before halftime to give the Tigers a 3-0 halftime lead. Maddie Recupero netted the fourth goal 38 seconds into the second half, while Sarah Houston capped the scoring for Princeton in the 57th minute.
Lehigh finally broke through with just under seven minutes remaining. Junior Aminah Baruwa ran onto a long ball in the box and saw her shot saved by Princeton's Cecelia Cerone. The ball eventually redirected towards the middle of the box with Latini right-footing it into the upper right corner of the net.
Shots favored Princeton 26-10 and the Tigers had an 11-1 advantage in corners. Latini, Baruwa and senior Sophia Lis all had two shots to lead Lehigh.
Junior R'Reeyah Mabry-Francis made four saves for Lehigh. Cerone split time in net with Sydney Romano for Princeton and made two second-half saves.
The Mountain Hawks return to league play this weekend when they host Boston University in their home finale Saturday at 1 p.m.
