BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh women's soccer played its first home Patriot League match of the season on Wednesday evening from the Ulrich Sports Complex against the Navy Midshipmen. The Mountain Hawks put up 11 shots and six shots on goal, but a strong offensive effort from the Midshipmen helped Navy win 3-1.

Lehigh (0-9-1, 0-3-0 PL) found an early opportunity against the Navy (9-4-1, 2-1-0 PL) defense in the third minute from sophomore Tori Okorodudu, but Navy goalkeeper Natasha Stramrood made the save. The Midshipmen took the lead in the 13th minute off the foot of Jessica Black before extending their lead to two in the 21st minute off a Lauren Toms goal. Junior Esther Brossard responded for the Mountain Hawks in the 39th minute when she scored off a Rylie Moschella assist to set the score at 2-1 at the end of the first half.

Navy added another goal in the 57th minute of the second half from Sophia Ryan to take a 3-1 lead. The Mountain Hawks found opportunities in the second half, including four shots on goal, but the Navy defense ultimately held Lehigh off the board to secure the victory.

Brossard and Moschella paced the Mountain Hawks offensively with three shots apiece. Sophomores Eden Freeman Warren and Lola Wojciechowski each tallied two shots while sophomore Tori Okorodudu added one herself. Sophomore goalkeeper Chloe Zipprich made six saves in the loss.

The Mountain Hawks return to the Ulrich Sports Complex on Sunday, October 4 at 1 p.m. to host American on Senior Day.
