Mountain Hawks Drop League Opener at Bucknell 3-1

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Lehigh women's soccer opened Patriot League play on the road on Saturday afternoon from Emmitt Field at Holmes Stadium against the Bucknell Bison. The Mountain Hawks dropped the league opener by a score of 3-1.
Bucknell (4-5-1, 1-0-0 PL) generated opportunities in the first half, which led to goals from Louisa Thomsen and Ingrid Murphy in the 29th and 33rd minutes respectively. Dani Howard provided the Bison with an additional goal in the 71st to take a 3-0 lead. Lehigh (0-7-1, 0-1-0 PL) got on the board thanks to senior Rylie Moschella's penalty kick in the 84th minute, but it was all little too late.
Moschella, sophomore Tori Okorodudu, senior Macy McCallum, sophomore Lola Wojciechowski, sophomore Paige Place, senior Summer Hill, and first-year Ella Pomaranski registered shots for Lehigh. Sophomore goalkeeper Chloe Zipprich made six saves in Saturday's loss.
The Mountain Hawks continue league play on Saturday, September 26 at 1 p.m. on the road against the Army West Point Black Knights.
