WASHINGTON, D.C. - Lehigh women's soccer continued league play with a 3-1 loss to American on Saturday afternoon at Reeves Field.

The Eagles scored in the third minute, taking an early 1-0 lead over Lehigh.

In the 36th minute, American was awarded a penalty kick after a hard foul in the box. Avery Klingensmith converted, extending the Eagles' lead to 2-0 into intermission.

American started the second half like it opened the first, tallying a goal in the opening minutes to extend the lead to 3-0.

Lehigh earned a penalty kick of its own in the 55th minute, leading to Faith Dobosiewicz's team-high third goal of the season.

Macy McCallum and Tori Okorodudu led Lehigh with three shots apiece.

R'Reeyah Mabry-Francis and American's Addison Roemer both recorded three saves.

Lehigh (2-6-3, 0-3-1 PL) returns home to the Ulrich Sports Complex on Friday, October 10, to play host to Loyola. Friday's game will be the program's Senior Night.
