10/15/2025 8:28:00 PM | Women's Soccer
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Senior Sophia Lis scored an equalizer two minutes into the second half, but Colgate's Josie Tunney scored her second goal of the night to lift the visiting Raiders to a 2-1 win over the Mountain Hawks Wednesday night at the Ulrich Sports Complex.
Junior R'Reeyah Mabry-Francis faced 27 shots on the night and made 11 saves for Lehigh, but Tunney's brace helped the Raiders maintain their first-place position in the standings.
Lehigh falls to 2-8-3 overall and 0-5-1 in league play.
Colgate (7-4-4, 4-1-1 PL) capitalized on a strange bounce to take the lead 37 minutes in. A 50-50 ball was headed wide of the near post when it suddenly caromed back across the goal mouth. Tunney tapped the loose ball home to give the Raiders a 1-0 lead, which stood at halftime. Colgate out-shot Lehigh 12-1 in the opening 45 minutes.
Lis tied the game early in the second half when she headed home a cross from first-year Paige Place for her second goal of the season.
The Raiders went back in front with just over 20 minutes remaining. Mabry-Francis saved Molly Richards' header off a Raider corner kick, but Tunney was there to score on the rebound to put Colgate up 2-1.
Lehigh's best chance at another equalizer came in the 82nd minute, but Colgate's Ella Poppinga saved a hard shot by junior Aminah Baruwa.
Shots favored Colgate by a 27-7 margin, with the Raiders also having an 8-4 edge in corners. Lis and graduate student Faith Dobosiewicz led Lehigh with three shots on the evening.
The Mountain Hawks will next hit the road to face Holy Cross Saturday at 1 p.m.
