The Domination of Mike Sisselberger

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Fifth-year senior Mike Sisselberger has had an illustrious career and has cemented himself as one of the most decorated players in program history. The Center Valley, Pa. native didn't need to go far to find the school for him.
Sisselberger attended nearby Southern Lehigh High School. At Southern Lehigh, Sisselberger had a well-decorated career. He was the No. 1 faceoff recruit in the class of 2018 and was named the MVP of both his football and lacrosse team in high school.
While it's no surprise that Sisselberger was able to have success at Lehigh, the level he's been able to achieve and the records he's been able to break in 49 games played are certainly impressive.
In 2021, Sisselberger exploded for a monster season. He won 79.5% of his faceoffs, which is an NCAA single-season record. Sisselberger was named a first team All-American in 2021 and Lehigh's first first-team All-American since 1923. Following a breakout season, Sisselberger was named the Patriot League Faceoff Specialist of the Year for the first time in his career in 2021.
Since then, he's continued to dominate and is now a three-time Patriot League Faceoff Specialist of the Year.
Sisselberger became the Patriot League's all-time leader in ground balls this season. He's picked up 493 ground balls in his career. He also set a Patriot League single-season record in 2023, grabbing 168 ground balls. Sisselberger was named a USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American on May 9, and he was named a second team Inside Lacrosse All-American on May 17. He is now a three-time All-American.
With 742 career faceoffs won, Sisselberger ends his career as Lehigh's all-time leader in career faceoff wins.He is also Lehigh's single-season record holder in faceoffs won after winning 255 faceoffs in Lehigh's 15 games.
Sisselberger added another impressive milestone on May 9 when he became the first Mountain Hawk in program history to be drafted in the first round of the Premier Lacrosse League Draft. Sisselberger was selected as the fifth overall pick by the Archers Lacrosse Club. Sisselberger is one of 30 players that will tryout for the 19-man roster. Premier Lacrosse League opening day is slated for June 3.
