Four Mountain Hawks Earn Patriot League Weekly Awards

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh men's lacrosse brought home four Patriot League Weekly Awards, as announced Monday afternoon.Â
Scott Cole was named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week, Mike Sisselberger was named the Faceoff Specialist of the Week, NIck Pecora was named the Goalkeeper of the Week, and Richard Checo was named the Rookie of the Week.
Lehigh defeated Loyola 15-9 on Friday. It marked just the second-time ever that Lehigh defeated the Greyhounds as the Mountain Hawks clinched the No. 3 seed for the upcoming Patriot League Tournament.
Cole had an incredible performance on Friday. He recorded a game-high of seven points, scoring six goals and dishing out an assist. Cole is now a two-time recipient of the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week award.
Sisselberger went 20-of-25 at the stripe, while also grabbing 13 ground balls. The Center Valley, Pa., native also won his 700th faceoff of his career and became the Patriot League's all-time leader in ground balls (475). This is Sisselberger's fifth time this season earning Patriot League Faceoff Specialist of the Week Honors.
Pecora had a strong presence in the net as he finished with 15 saves and recorded a save percentage of 62.5%. Pecora helped anchor a defense that allowed just nine goals. It marked the fourth time this season that Lehigh allowed single-digit goals. Pecora has now been named the Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week three times this season.Â
Checo continues to have an incredible season. He caused three turnovers and grabbed two ground balls. Checo has now recorded multiple caused turnovers in all but one game. While he was named the Defensive Player of the Week two times this season, this is the first time he was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week.Â
The Mountain Hawks will host Laffeytte in the Patriot League quarterfinals Tuesday at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here.
