BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh women's basketball's Mackenzie Kramer was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-American team, as announced Wednesday afternoon.
Kramer landed on the third team and is the first-ever player in program history to be named an Academic All-American. She's just one of 16 players in Division I women's basketball to earn Academic All-America honors.
On Feb. 21, Kramer was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, which recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better and be a starter or key reserve. The Academic All-America teams are voted on by the College Sports Communicators membership.
Kramer has a 4.0 overall GPA in population health. She finished the year second in the Patriot League in scoring (17.2 points per game), first in three-pointers made per game (2.6) and first in three-point percentage (42.7%). The Minnesota native is also 13th in the nation in three-point percentage.
Kramer was recently named the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year for women's basketball and is just the second player in program history to achieve the honor twice.
