ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The Lehigh women's track and field squad finished in fifth place at the 2023 Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Championships which had two individuals and the distance medley relay team medal on the final day of the championship meet.
"The women's team was extremely impressive this weekend," commented women's track and field head coach Khayla Atte. "We have dedicated the entire season to competing and training with more intensity. This has allowed us to prioritize quality over quantity."
Navy's women compiled 214.5 points to capture its fourth consecutive Patriot League Championship while Boston University (146) and Army West Point (131.25) made up the top three. Bucknell (78.25) finished fourth as the Mountain Hawks (60.5). Holy Cross (40), Loyola Maryland (17), Lafayette (10.5), American (2) and Colgate (1) make up the rest of the women's standings.
The distance medley relay squad of senior Elena Perez-Segnini, sophomore Lillian Mauger, junior Simone Davey and senior Andrea Miller earned silver with their performance, completing the event in 11:50.36.
Another second-place finish was awarded to first-year Abby Klebe, who earned Lehigh eight points in the 800-meter event. Klebe recorded the third-best time in program history with that performance.

Struck then finished sixth in the 200-meter dash in 24.78 seconds, just .01 seconds off of the school record she set during the prelims on day one.
Atte added, "We peaked when it matters, our upperclass-women showed immense leadership and our underclass-women handled the championship pressure well. Teammates who were not competing traveled to Annapolis and provided amazing energy & support."
Senior Ashley Griesmeyer placed sixth in the 60-meter hurdles, which scored the Mountain Hawks three points.
The 4x400-meter relay squad made up of Klebe, Struck, first-year Grace Kennedy and sophomore Stephanie Webb recorded a time of 3:57.35 to finish in sixth place and pick up three points

Junior Nina Cialone garnered two points in the triple jump with a mark of 11.76 meters to finish seventh.
"We have what I believe will be one of the most gifted groups of women to come through the program," added Atte. "I am extremely fortunate to be their coach & to work beside dedicated staff.
"I am excited to turn my focus to the outdoor season, where additional athletes can showcase their talents in events such as steeplechase, javelin, and 400 hurdles to name a few," concluded Atte.
The Mountain Hawks will prepare for the ECAC Championship, which will be held in Boston, Mass. on March 3-5.
