
Mountain Hawks Head to Final Indoor Meet of Regular Season

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Coming off of a dominant performance at the Big Apple Invitational last Saturday, the Lehigh women's track and field team will head to Lewisburg, Pa. for its final meet of the regular season. The Mountain Hawks will compete at the Bucknell Tune Up on Friday before heading down to Annapolis, Md. for the Patriot League Championship on Feb. 25-26.
Ashley Struck dominated for Lehigh last Saturday, breaking the 200m and 400m school record. The junior opened up the day by breaking the 400m, finishing second overall with a time of 56.67. Later on in the meet, Struck broke her second school record of the day, finishing second in the 200m with a time of 25.00.
The Mountain Hawks continued to shine as three individuals added their names to Lehigh's all-time list and seven finished the weekend with ECAC qualifying times or marks.
Senior Ashley Griesmeyer was the first Mountain Hawk to earn an ECAC qualifying time. Griesmeyer finished second in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.87.
In the 800m, first-year Abigail Klebe picked up her first college win, winning the race with an ECAC qualifying time of 2:13.26. Senior Elena Perez-Segnini finished second overall with an ECAC qualifying time of 2:14.10.
Junior Christina Yakaboski was the final Mountain Hawk to capture an ECAC qualifying time on the track. Yakaboski won the 3000m with a time of 9:50.70 to become sixth all-time in Lehigh history.
While the Mountain Hawks put up several impressive performances on the track, they continued to shine in the field events.
In the jumps, sophomore Lillian Mauger secured an all-time addition of her own. Mauger finished fourth in the long jump with a mark of 5.50m to become tied for eighth all-time. Senior Avery Roze finished fifth in the long jump with a mark of 5.34m.
First-year Laura Reigle continued to dominate in the pole vault. Reigle finished second overall with a mark of 3.66m.
The Bucknell Tune Up will begin at 5 p.m. with the women's weight throw and high jump and men's long jump and pole vault. Competition on the track will begin at 6 p.m. with the men's 60m hurdles.
The Mountain Hawks will wrap up the indoor season in Annapolis, Md. at the Patriot League Championship, which will be hosted by Navy, on Feb. 25-26. Lehigh will prepare for the IC4A Championship, which will be held in Boston, Mass. on March 3-5.
