Hottinger Named Player of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh women's basketball's Frannie Hottinger was named the Patriot League Player of the week, the league announced Monday afternoon.
This is the second straight honor for Hottinger and the seventh time that the Minnesota native has earned the Patriot League Player of the Week honors this season.Â
Hottinger is the first player in the Patriot League since the 2015-16 season to reach the milestone seven times in a season. Kelsey Minato from Army was named Patriot League Player of the week seven times and went on to earn the Patriot League Player of the Year in 2016.Â
Hottinger averaged 23 points and 11 rebounds in two games last week. The senior recorded her 13th double-double of the season on Saturday, tallying 28 points, 13 rebounds, and three assists in a 69-57 win at Loyola on Saturday. She also recorded her 1,000th career point, becoming just the 22nd player in program history to achieve the honor.Â
Against Colgate, she was 7-of-12 from the field and finished with 18 points, nine rebounds and a block.
Averaging 21.3 points per game, Hottinger ranks ninth in the nation in points per game and 16th in the nation in double-doubles.Â
Hottinger and Lehigh will compete again in Annapolis, Md., against Navy on Wednesday at 7 p.m.Â
