Lehigh Looks to Continue Dominance Against Lafayette

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Rivalry, presented by Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute, returns to Bethlehem on Friday as Lehigh women's swimming and diving hosts Lafayette at 6 p.m. at Jacobs Pool. The Mountain Hawks have beaten Lafayette 15 consecutive years and will look to continue their streak on Friday.Â
The Mountain Hawks are 2-2 this season, while the Leopards are 0-2.Â
Lehigh rolled to a 219-80 victory last season against the Leopards. Sarah Hardy led the way last season, winning three events. Not only did she win three events, but she also set two Lafayette pool records and broke a school record in the 200-yard butterfly (1:59.23).Â
Hardy, the fifth-year, continues to dominate this season. In Lehigh's last meet against Seton Hall on Nov. 4, she brought home three first-place finishes.
Noel Fresa, Mairin Ludwig, Sarah Manthorp and Natalie Martin and Natalie Werwaiss also tallied first place finishes against Lafayette last season.Â
Fresa won the 50-yard freestyle (25.30), Ludwig won the 200-yard freestyle (1.50.90)Â and the 500-yard freestyle (4.56.05), Manthorp won the 100-yard freestyle (51.94), Martin won the 1000-yard freestyle (10.21.31) and Werwaiss won the 100-yard backstroke (57.08) and the 200-yard backstroke (2.01.14).
Following The Rivalry, Lehigh will take on Drexel on Dec. 2 at Jacobs Pool.Â
