No. 5 Lehigh visits No. 4 Boston University on Sunday in Patriot League Quarterfinal

BETHLEHEM, Pa - The fifth-seeded Mountain Hawks (7-5-4, 4-4-1 PL) head to no. 4 Boston University on Sunday for the Patriot League Tournament quarterfinal. On September 24, the teams tied 2-2 in Bethlehem.

Graduate student Ryelle Shuey was named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year, the league office announced Friday afternoon. Shuey earned a spot on the All-Patriot League first team while juniors Corinne Lyght and Faith Dobosiewicz landed on the second team.

In the earlier meeting between Lehigh and Boston University, senior Ava Schaller and junior Hope Flanegin scored for the Mountain Hawks. In the 59th minute, Schaller dribbled the ball to the end line and put it in the far corner of the net to give Lehigh a 1-0 lead. The Mountain Hawks maintained momentum after Schaller's goal, striking again about five minutes later.

In the 64th minute, junior Corinne Lyght crossed the ball into the box, making contact with a header from sophomore Sophia Lis. Flanegin got on the end of the header at the far post to give Lehigh a 2-0 lead with over 20 minutes left in the game.

Boston University got on the board in the 81st minute, as Natalie Godoy scored off an assist from Kat Slott.

The Terriers gained momentum with the goal, drawing a penalty just two minutes later. Giulianna Gianino netted the penalty opportunity to even the score 2-2 with under eight minutes left in the game.

Boston University leads the all-time series 7-1-3. The fourth-seeded Terriers are 7-6-5 (4-3-2 PL), picking up league wins over Colgate, Navy, Lafayette and American. With six student-athletes landing on the All-Patriot League teams, Abby McNulty (4 goals, 2 assists) and Giulianna Gianino (6 goals, 3 assists) landed on the first team. Second team honoree Natalie Godoy also tallies six goals and three assists. Morgan Fagan, Mackenzie Stickelman and goalkeeper Celia Braun earned third team honors.

The winner of Sunday's matchup will head to either no. 1 Army or no. 2 Bucknell on Thursday.
