Mountain Hawks Conclude Fall Season At Bloomsburg Fall Invite

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Lehigh men's tennis concluded their fall season on Saturday with a trip to Bloomsburg University for their Fall Invite. The Mountain Hawks competed in three singles and two doubles matches against the likes of Slippery Rock, St. Bonaventure, Saint Francis, Juniata, Lafayette and the hosting Bloomsburg.
Wyeth Anzilotti, Luke Donovan, Sean Jaeger and Benedict Horn-Bourque were the four Mountain Hawk players in attendance at the invite. Although the event was scheduled to take place on Saturday-Sunday, Lehigh elected to only compete on the opening Saturday of competition.
The pairing on Wyeth Anzilotti and Sean Jaeger got the day's events started for Lehigh, as the two took on Alan Gonzalez and Matt Kozar of Saint Francis. The two Mountain Hawks dropped their opening bout by a score of 8-4 to the Red Flash. Benedict Horn-Bourque and Luke Donovan were able to kick-off their time at the invite on a high note, defeating Bloomsburg's Landon Wall and Iu Casamitjana 8-6.
In singles play, Anzilotti took on Marc Fuste of Saint Francis, falling 6-3 in the opening set and then 7-6 in a tightly-contested second. Horn-Bourque got the best of his Lafayette adversary, clinching a 6-4, 6-2 win over Lehigh's rivals. Jaeger also earned a commanding 6-1, 6-1 win in his singles action against Gregory Troyan of Saint Francis. Donovan did not compete in singles action due to an injury.
Unfortunately for Lehigh, inclement weather canceled the remainder of Saturday's competition, simultaneously ending the team's fall season. Mountain Hawks will now focus on preparing for the spring season, which is set to begin in February.
