Lehigh Heads to American for Key Matchup

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh men's soccer will hit the road to take on American on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Washington D.C. Saturday's game will be the final away game of the regular season. 

The Mountain Hawks are 2-8-5 (1-3-2 PL), and the Eagles are 4-4-4 (1-2-3 PL).  

Lehigh was defeated 5-0 by Penn on Oct. 17. Senior goalkeeper Blake Koski tallied a career-high of nine saves, but the Mountain Hawks struggled to get things going on the offensive end as they were outshot 22-2. 

Lehigh has recorded a tie in its last two Patriot League games. In the last legaue game, Lehigh tied first-place Loyola on Oct. 14. The Mountain Hawks are currently tied for eighth in the league with five points. 

Perry Kingson has a team-high of four goals as Kingson made all four of his penalty kicks this season.

American is coming off of its first league win of the season after defeating Navy 1-0 on Oct. 18. Ethan Boyle scored the lone goal in the 26th minute. 

Sam Hershey is the leading scorer for the Eagles, recording 11 points (5A, 1A). Boyle is second on the team with 10 points (5G). 

Matthew Tibbetts has seen the most time in net for the Eagles. Tibbetts has started eight games and has played 720 minutes, recording a 1.38 GAA and  a 71.1% save percentage. 

American leads the all-time series 15-9-5. Lehigh defeated the Eagles 4-0 last season at home. 

Following Saturday's game, Lehigh will have two games to close out the regular season, starting with a game at home against Holy Cross on Oct. 28 at 6 p.m.
