BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Prior to Lehigh men's soccer's 1-0 victory over Army on Saturday, Ingrassia Family men's head soccer coach Dean Koski and Murray H. Goodman Dean of Athletics Jeremy Gibson dedicated the Ulrich Sports Complex's new benches to the generous donors who helped make the project happen.
A ceremony was held pregame dedicating the new additions to the sidelines, which included stitching donors' names into the backs of the benches and formally introducing the project to the Lehigh community. Over $217,000 was raised for the project which included two KwikGoal Team Benches, two KwikGoal Coaches Benches, a KwikGoal Scorers Tower, fence additions, a cement pad, and landscape and hardscape upgrades.
"When this project became an opportunity to support, our alumni and donors stepped up in a big way to make it a reality," said Associate Director of Athletics Major Giving Nate Hughes. "The energy and leadership demonstrated throughout the fundraising was something special. This was a complete team effort, and Saturday was an awesome celebration honoring both the generosity of our community and the legacy of our soccer program. We have an incredible community, and that pride was on full display. Thank you to everyone who supported this project, your generosity directly impacts our student-athletes today and for years to come."
Following the dedication, the Mountain Hawks defeated Army 1-0 to move to 2-0 in Patriot League play. Lehigh returns to the Ulrich Sports Complex on Saturday, September 26 at 6 p.m. to take on Navy.
