Keene Tabbed Patriot League Rookie of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - First-year Carly Keene earned Patriot League Rookie of the Week following her game-winner and first collegiate goal in Lehigh's 1-0 win over Colgate on Wednesday.

In the 32nd minute of play on Wednesday, Colgate goalkeeper Alli Popham came out towards the edge of the box to play Keene as the first-year put the ball past her and into the net giving Lehigh a 1-0 lead. Classmate Aminah Baruwa dished out the assist to the Millersville, Pa. native.

Keene has played in 10 games this season, recording three shots. Her goal against Colgate kicked off a 2-0 week, launching the Mountain Hawks into fifth place in the league standings. The rookie also appeared in the 4-1 win over American on Sunday.

Sophomore goalkeeper Maggie Ousouljoglou and first-year Mia Tuckwood earned spots on the honorable mention list.

Lehigh's remaining opponents in Bucknell and Loyola both sit ahead of the Mountain Hawks in the standings, with Loyola in first and the Bison in third place.

The Mountain Hawks (6-4-4, 3-3-1 PL) host Loyola at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Ulrich Sports Complex.
