Lehigh Looks to Maintain Momentum at American

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Following a 1-0 win over Colgate on Wednesday, the Lehigh women's soccer team looks to carry momentum into Sunday's matchup with American. The game previously slated for 1 p.m. has been moved to 2 p.m. due to impending weather.

First-year Carly Keene netted her first goal in Wednesday win off an assist from classmate Aminah Baruwa. Senior Ava Schaller leads the offense with eight points, scoring two goals and contributing four assists. Graduate student Ryelle Shuey leads Lehigh in goals with three.Â

American (3-6-4, 3-2-1 PL) sits in fourth place in the league, slotted four places above the Mountain Hawks. The Eagles picked up wins over Army, Lafayette and Navy. Junior Brooke Steel leads American with three goals and one assist.

The series with the Eagles is tied 12-12-1, with Lehigh picking up a 3-1 win last season. Schaller, junior Corinne Lyght and sophomore Sophia Lis netted goals in the victory.

Including Sunday, Lehigh (5-4-4, 2-3-1) has three regular season contests remaining. American, Loyola and Bucknell are on the docket over the next two weeks. The Mountain Hawks currently sit in eighth place in the league with Lafayette and Navy behind Lehigh.
