Five Mountain Hawks Earn All-Patriot League Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Five members of the Lehigh women's lacrosse team have received All-Patriot League recognition following strong regular seasons, as announced by the league on Monday. Juniors Gabby Schneider and Emma Eberhardt were named to the first team while senior Jenna Garden, junior Katia Carnevale and sophomore Hayley Hunt garnered second-team laurels.

This marks the second straight season Lehigh has featured five or more All-Patriot League honorees – the first time since 2010-11 the Mountain Hawks have had 5+ in multiple seasons.

Schneider was named first team All-League for a second straight season. The attacker leads the Patriot League and is fourth in the nation in assists (43), fifth in assists per game (2.53) and is third in the league in points (76). She set a program record for assists with seven against Lafayette, and her 89 career assists are now second in program history. Schneider has posted multiple points in every game, and three or more points in all but one contest, including four with 7+ points. She also recorded five goals and two assists against La Salle (in a game which saw her eclipse 50 goals, 50 assists and 100 points all in the same time), while recording four goals and three assists vs. Siena.

Eberhardt is a first team All-League honoree after being named to the second team as a sophomore. The midfielder/attacker is currently tied for first on the Mountain Hawks in goals (43) and second in points (64). Eberhardt leads the team in draw controls (80), which is third in program history and only six behind the program record. Her 4.71 draws per game are eighth in the Patriot League. Also named Patriot League Midfielder of the Week on Monday (May 2), Eberhardt has multiple points in every game this season, including 3+ points in all but one contest. She's had three goals named a SportsCenter Top 10 Play of the Day – at Saint Joseph's, vs. Siena and most recently, at Colgate in the Patriot League Quarterfinals.

Senior defender Jenna Garden was named All-Patriot League for the first time in her career. A leader of a defense that's allowed the third fewest goals in the Patriot League this season (183), Garden stands third on the Mountain Hawks in groundballs (28) and tied for second in caused turnovers (20). Overall, Lehigh is 28th nationally in scoring defense (10.71) and has allowed single-digit goals seven times this season, including six goals or fewer on three occasions. Most recently, the Mountain Hawks allowed just seven goals in Sunday's 12-7 Patriot League Quarterfinal win at Colgate. This came against a Raiders' offense that had been averaging 13.75 goals over its previous four games.

Junior attacker Katia Carnevale earned All-League for the first time in her career. She is tied for the team lead in goals (43), and stands third in points (56). Among the highlights was a career-high tying eight goals against Lafayette. She's posted multiple goals in 10 games this season, including four of the last five. On Sunday at Colgate, Carnevale scored a game-high five goals in Lehigh's quarterfinal victory. It marked her sixth hat trick of the season and 16th of her career. Like Eberhardt, Carnevale has had multiple goals make SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays of the Day – coming vs. Loyola and at Navy.

In her first season at Lehigh, sophomore Hayley Hunt jumped right in and made a huge impact. She currently leads the nation in saves (204) and stands second nationally in save percentage (55.1) and saves per game (12.00). If the season ended today, that save percentage would be the highest by a Patriot League goalkeeper since Megan Orr in 2007 (excluding the 2020 pandemic-shortened season). Hunt was named Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week and IWLCA Co-Defensive Player of the Week following a combined 29 saves and just 10 goals allowed vs. Lafayette and Holy Cross. Included was a career-high 18 stops (just four goals allowed) vs. Holy Cross. Hunt has recorded double-digit saves in all but three games this season.

The Mountain Hawks return to action on Thursday in the Patriot League Semifinals at No. 7 ranked and top-seeded Loyola. Opening draw is set for 3 p.m. on ESPN+.
