Hottinger Named Player of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa-. Frannie Hottinger was named Patriot League Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.Â
This is the third time the senior wing is bringing home the honor this season after putting up a team-high of 21 points, nine rebounds, one block and one assist in a 70-63 win at Yale on Wednesday.Â
She was also named Patriot League Player of the Week on Nov. 14 and Dec. 5.Â
Hottinger has had an incredible start to the 2022-23 season. Averaging 20.4 points per game, the Inver Grove, Minn, native leads the Patriot League in scoring and is 17th in the nation in scoring and tied for 25th in the nation in rebounding, grabbing 9.8 rebounds a game.Â
Hottinger is just the sixth player in program history to be named Patriot League Player of the Week at least three times in a season. Mackenzie Kramer earned player of the week three times last season, and Erica Prosser took home the honors four times in 2009, and three times in 2011. Anne Tierney was the first Mountain Hawk to achieve the honor three times during the 1999-2000 season.Â
Hottinger and the Mountain Hawks begin Patriot League play against Army on Friday at home at 2 p.m.Â
The game will be broadcast on ESPN+. Lehigh is 4-7, and Army comes into Friday's game with a record of 2-8.
