Lehigh Ready to Compete at ECAC Championships

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - After taking a week to recover from the 48th annual Paul Short Run, the Lehigh women's cross country will return to action this Friday at the ECAC Championships. The Mountain Hawks will compete at 10:45 a.m. at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, N.Y.

In its last competition, Lehigh finished 37th overall with 1015 points. Junior Christina Yakaboski was a top-finisher for the Mountain Hawks, finishing 172nd overall with a time of 21:22.1. Following close behind was first-year Lucy Afanasewicz who finished second for Lehigh and 194th overall with a time of 21:29.2.

Yakaboski and Afanasewicz performances during the Paul Short Run secured them both spots in the all-time top ten for Lehigh runners on the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course.

Friday's meet will be the final meet of the regular season for the Mountain Hawks. Following the ECAC Championships, Lehigh will return to Bethlehem to prepare for the Patriot League Championships in Lewisburg, Pa. on Saturday, Oct. 29.
