BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After last playing at St. John's last Thursday, the Lehigh women's soccer team kicks off a busy few days when it hosts Wagner on Thursday (6 p.m.) before traveling to Seton Hall on Sunday (1 p.m.). Thursday's contest can be seen on ESPN+ while Sunday's broadcast is set for FloFC. The Mountain Hawks are 1-3 on the season, which includes a pair of close one-goal road defeats and a win over defending MAAC Champion Siena.

That win over Siena was Lehigh's first and only home contest thus far. The Mountain Hawks then traveled to St. John's to face a strong Red Storm squad. A tight start saw Lehigh post the game's first quality scoring chance – a pair of shots on goal in the 35th minute off a corner kick. Junior Julianna Bonner's initial header looked ticketed for the far post, but St. John's somehow kept it out. The Red Storm scored moments later and held a 2-0 lead late until two goals in the final four minutes accounted for the 4-0 final.

Wagner is 2-2 on the season, beating Rider (3-2) and Saint Peter's (3-0) before falling against Manhattan (2-1) and NJIT (1-0). The Seahawks were 0-6-1 last spring and 5-10-3 in the fall of 2019. This season, Madison Carr leads the team in goals (4) and points (8) while Mia Tessier isn't far behind with five points via one goal and a team-leading three assists. Erin Kelly has played every minute in goal, recording a 1.25 goals against average and 68.8 save percentage.

Thursday will mark the first-ever meeting between Lehigh and Wagner.

Lehigh's second Big East opponent in 11 days, Seton Hall stands 3-2 overall heading into a Thursday contest vs. Iona. The Pirates began the season with wins over Lafayette (1-0), NJIT (2-0) and Delaware (1-0) before falling to Fairleigh Dickinson (1-0 in double overtime) and Drexel (1-0). Seton Hall finished 2-9 last spring and 2-13-1 in the fall of 2019. So far in 2021, Naomi Welch leads the Pirates in goals (3) and points (6) while Sophie Liston has dished two assists and Emma Ramsay has scored the other goal. Grace Gordon has been strong in goal, stopping 19-of-21 shots sent her way for a 0.39 goals against average and 90.5 save percentage – both among the nation's best.

Seton Hall leads the all-time series with Lehigh, 3-1-1. The last meeting came in 2012, a 2-0 Pirates' win in Bethlehem. The last matchup at Seton Hall was a 1-1 draw the year prior. The first-ever meeting was Lehigh's first varsity game in program history, a 3-0 Lehigh win on Sept. 11, 1991.

Following this weekend, the Mountain Hawks will prepare for their Patriot League opener on Saturday, Sept. 18 vs. Army West Point. Opening kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
