
Lehigh Finishes Eighth In First Fall Tournament

HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Lehigh men's golf team posted a strong final round score of 293 to close out its first fall tournament as Colgate's Alex Lagowicz Memorial Invitational wrapped up Sunday at Seven Oaks Golf Club. The Mountain Hawks improved six strokes off of their first and second round scores to finish eighth in a 15-team field with a final score of 891 (299-299-293).
Five of Lehigh's six entrants shot 75 or better in Sunday's final round.
Junior Daniel Song was Lehigh's top finisher, tying for 15th place at four over par 220 (74-72-74). Song carded a pair birdies in his final round.
Sophomore Edmund Broderick tied for 27th place at 223 (74-76-73). Broderick made three birdies on Sunday for his best round of the weekend.
The low round for Lehigh on Sunday came from Jahan Bains, who birdies three of his first six holes, made four birdies overall and shot even par 72. Bains tied for 31st at 224 (78-74-72).
Junior David Hurly finished at 226 (74-78-74) and tied for 36th place, while classmate Sam Barton tied for 59th at 231 (77-79-75). Hurly made two birdies in his final round, while Barton carded three.
Freshman Aidan Oehrle shot 81 on Sunday and tied for 76th place at 236 (78-77-81).
Yale cruised to the team title with a final total of 862 (287-285-290). The Bulldogs beat second place Seton Hall by 15 strokes, while third place Rhode Island was 20 strokes off the pace.
Colgate's Dugan McCabe was the individual medalist at two under par 214. He defeated three players by one stroke.
Next up for Lehigh is The Doc Gimmler, hosted by St. John's, Sept. 11-12 on the Bethpage Red Course in Farmingdale, N.Y.
