BETHLEHEM, Pa. – One of the most decorated student-athletes in program history received perhaps her most impressive honor on Tuesday as graduate student Sondra Dickey was named a third team All-American by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Associated (IWLCA). Dickey becomes the program's first All-American since Lauren Dykstra was also named to the third team in 2011.

"This is a tremendous honor for our program," said Lehigh head coach Jill Redfern. "It is directly attributable to teammates who encouraged Sondra to reach her full potential while simultaneously delivering their own strengths for our outstanding team this season. It's a great reminder of what is possible at Lehigh."

Dickey was the winner of Lehigh Athletics' Graduating Female Athlete Award, finishing a historic career in 2021 in grand fashion. She was named the Patriot League Midfielder of the Year, while also garnering first team All-League for a third straight season. The three-time All-Region honoree led the Mountain Hawks in a number of statistical categories, including goals (44), points (52), groundballs (39), caused turnovers (41) and draw controls (53). Dickey caused 26 turnovers over her final six games – 15 in three Patriot League Tournament contests – to earn All-Tournament Team honors and become the program's all-time record holder for caused turnovers in a season.

Her 3.15 caused turnovers per game led the nation, while she finished 19th in groundballs per contest (3.00). Dickey's six Midfielder of the Week awards and seven total awards in 2021 tied a Patriot League record for a season, while her 15-career weekly awards are most in league history. She became the first player in program history in the top 10 for career goals (205), assists (57), points (262), groundballs (147), caused turnovers (118) and draw controls (252). Dickey owns the program record for caused turnovers and draw controls.

In late May, Dickey was also recognized by Inside Lacrosse as an honorable mention Media All-American.
Lehigh won nine of its final 11 games in 2021 to finish the season 9-4, reaching the Patriot League Title Game for the first time since 2010 and winning two Patriot League Tournament contests for the first time in program history.
