Dickey Wins Seventh Patriot League Weekly Award of Season

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – For the seventh time in 10 weeks, Lehigh women's lacrosse graduate student Sondra Dickey has won a Patriot League award, most recently being named Midfielder of the Week on Monday for the sixth time this season. The six Midfielder of the Week awards ties a Patriot League record for a season (originally set by Navy's Loren Generi in 2015).

Dickey's seven total awards this season tie Kelly Larkin (Navy) and Livy Rosenzweig (Loyola) for the most weekly honors in a season in league history. Dickey has now won a Patriot League record 15-career weekly awards, 14 of which have been Midfielder of the Week.

Dickey filled up the stat sheet once again in Wednesday's 21-6 win over American in the regular season finale, recording five goals, two assists, seven draw controls and a caused turnover despite not playing the whole game and the clock running for much of the game's final 40+ minutes (because of a 10+ goal margin). Wednesday marked Dickey's third game this season with seven or more points and third with seven or more draw controls. As a team, Dickey and the Lehigh defense held American to its second fewest goals of the season. The Mountain Hawks have allowed seven or fewer goals in six of the last eight games. For the season, Dickey leads the Mountain Hawks in points (39), draw controls (47) and caused turnovers (26).

Seeded second in the South Division, the Mountain Hawks return to the field on Monday afternoon to host third-seeded Navy in the Patriot League Quarterfinals at 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
