BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Both first team All-Patriot League honorees in 2021, Lehigh women's lacrosse graduate student Sondra Dickey was named IWLCA first team All-Region on Wednesday, and sophomore Gabby Schneider was named to the second team. The All-Region honor marks Dickey's third straight, but it's her first time named to the first team and Lehigh's first first-team All-Region honor since Lauren Dykstra in 2011.

The Mountain Hawks also saw two of their student-athletes named All-Region for the first time since 2016 (when Julianne D'Orazio and Allison LaBeau were named to the second team).

The winner of Lehigh Athletics' Graduating Female Athlete Award, Dickey finished off a historic career in 2021 with perhaps her best season to date. She was named the Patriot League Midfielder of the Year, while also garnering first team All-League for a third straight season. She led the team in a number of statistical categories, including goals (44), points (52), groundballs (39), caused turnovers (41) and draw controls (53). Dickey caused 26 turnovers over her final six games, including 15 in three Patriot League Tournament contests, to earn All-Tournament Team honors and become the program's all-time record holder for caused turnovers in a season. Her 3.15 caused turnovers per game are currently No. 1 nationally, while she's 19th in groundballs per contest (3.00). Dickey's six Midfielder of the Week awards and seven total awards in 2021 tied a Patriot League record for a season, while her 15-career weekly awards are a league record. She became the first player in program history in the top 10 for career goals (205), assists (57), points (262), groundballs (147), caused turnovers (118) and draw controls (252). Dickey owns the program record for caused turnovers and draw controls.

Meanwhile, Schneider led the Mountain Hawks with 25 assists this season while her 46 points were good for second. Like Dickey, she was named to the Patriot League All-Tournament Team, which included a two-goal, four-assist effort in Lehigh's thrilling overtime win over Navy in the quarterfinals. Schneider recorded multiple points in 11-of-12 games played in 2021, and stands fourth in the Patriot League (25th nationally) in assists per contest (2.08). Among Schneider's other highlights was recording 4+ points in five straight league games (Army, Bucknell, Loyola, Navy, Lafayette). She posted seven points at La Salle (six goals, one assist) and six points (three goals, three assists) at Lafayette.

Lehigh won nine of its final 11 games to finish the season 9-4, reaching the Patriot League Title Game for the first time since 2010 and winning two Patriot League Tournament contests for the first time in program history.
