WXC given USTFCCCA All-Academic honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's cross country team was named and NCAA Division l Cross country Academic Team. The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) named the schools to the list. The Mountain Hawks are no stranger to this list as they were given the nod in 2020 after they compiled a 3.30 GPA last year.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a scale, including the most recent grading period.
"Attaining All-Academic team status has become an expectation for the women's cross country program," said head coach Debbie Utesch. "I am proud of the way the women balance their demanding academic course load with Division 1 Athletics. This year was especially challenging with the unfamiliar academic environment due to COVID restraints, yet the team still excelled in the classroom."
In all, 255 teams were listed by the USTFCCCA, 18 more than last year's total. The Mountain Hawks also registered a higher GPA than last year. This past fall, Lehigh's team GPA was a 3.34.
