Dickey Named to Tewaaraton Award Watch List for Second Straight Season

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – For the second straight season, Lehigh women's lacrosse standout Sondra Dickey has been named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List, as announced on Thursday. The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States. The selection committees are made up of premier collegiate coaches and are appointed annually by The Tewaaraton Foundation. Dickey becomes the first student-athlete in program history named to the Watch List on multiple years.
The lists include the top players across all three divisions of NCAA lacrosse and highlight the early contenders for the 2021 Tewaaraton Award. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the award.
Dickey currently leads the Mountain Hawks in goals (11), points (12) and caused turnovers (6), she's second in groundballs (9) and third in draw controls (7). Dickey began the season by scoring a career-high eight goalsf vs. Drexel, helping her win Patriot League Midfielder of the Week for the first of back-to-back weeks. Like she's done her entire career, Dickey has made her mark all over the field, going on to record eight groundballs and five caused turnovers over the past two games. In her career, Dickey stands third in program history in goals (172) and tied for fourth in points (222). She's first in draw controls (206) and third in caused turnovers (83), while approaching the top 10 in both assists (50) and groundballs (117). She's a two-time first team All-Patriot League and second team All-Region honoree.
Last spring, Dickey joined Lauren Dykstra (2011) as the two student-athletes in program history named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List.
The Mountain Hawks are set to open Patriot League play on Saturday when they travel to American for a 3 p.m. opening draw on ESPN+.
