Women’s Lacrosse Announces 2022 Schedule

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh head women's lacrosse coach Jill Redfern announced the Mountain Hawks' 2022 schedule on Monday, featuring 16 games – nine home, six road and a neutral-site game. The reigning Patriot League finalists begin on Wednesday, Feb. 16 at Saint Joseph's, while the Mountain Hawks' league opener is a rematch of last season's title game, as Lehigh hosts Loyola on Saturday, Mar. 19. Lehigh also faces reigning NCAA Tournament team Rutgers on the road before February is complete, as part of a challenging nonleague slate.
The Mountain Hawks play two games in February, traveling to Saint Joseph's on Feb. 16 and Rutgers 10 days later on the 26th. Saint Joe's advanced to the Atlantic 10 Championship Game in 2021, while the Scarlet Knights earned an at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament where they defeated No. 10 Drexel.
Lehigh begins March with three straight home games, playing five of its first six in the month at home. It begins with three games in the span of a week – vs. La Salle (Wednesday, Mar. 2), Wagner (Saturday, Mar. 5) and Siena (Tuesday, Mar. 8). The Mountain Hawks then travel to the USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. on Friday, Mar. 11 to face Coastal Carolina in a neutral-site contest. Last season, the Chanticleers finished 10-7 overall and advanced to the Southern Conference Semifinals.
Lehigh returns home the following Saturday (Mar. 19) to host Loyola in its Patriot League opener. Three days later, the Mountain Hawks welcome UC Davis on Tuesday, Mar. 22 in the final nonleague game of the season.
The rest of March features consecutive road contests at Navy (Saturday, Mar. 26) and Army West Point (Wednesday, Mar. 30), a pair of teams Lehigh defeated in its run to last season's championship game.
A busy April includes six Patriot League contests in less than four weeks – vs. Bucknell (Saturday, Apr. 2), against American (Saturday, Apr. 9), at Boston University (Saturday, Apr. 16), vs. Lafayette (Wednesday, Apr. 20), vs. Holy Cross (Saturday, Apr. 23) and at Colgate (Thursday, Apr. 28).
The Patriot League Tournament begins with the quarterfinals on Sunday, May 1 followed by the semifinals on Thursday, May 5 and championship game on Saturday, May 7. The Mountain Hawks will be vying for their eighth straight Patriot League Tournament berth.
