BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's soccer team returns home on Tuesday for its final nonleague game of the season, as the Mountain Hawks host Princeton. Gametime is set for 5 p.m. on ESPN+. It will mark the first game of a soccer doubleheader, as the Lehigh men also welcome Princeton at 7:30 p.m. The Mountain Hawks are coming off a 1-0 defeat at Loyola on Saturday behind a goal in the first minute of the second half.
Â
Lehigh only allowed a single shot on goal against the Greyhounds, but that shot found the back of the net on a free kick. Despite the loss, the Mountain Hawks remain in a Patriot League Tournament spot at the moment, standing 3-3-1 in league play, good for 10 points. They are in fifth place, two points ahead of Army West Point, American and Colgate, who are all 2-3-2 with eight points. Two league matches remain. The Mountain Hawks are within striking distance of several teams as well, currently three points out of fourth and four points behind third.
Â
Standing seventh in the United Soccer Coaches East Regional Rankings and receiving votes in the national poll, Princeton is 10-2-1 on the season and 3-1-0 in Ivy League play. The Tigers have packed a scoring punch, averaging 2.62 goals per game, which includes scoring four goals or more in four contests – led by six against Bucknell. Princeton also scored four in a 4-3 win over No. 9 Rutgers early in the season. Most recently, the Tigers picked up a 1-0 double overtime win against Columbia, one game after a 3-1 loss at Brown. Princeton's only other defeat came against No. 23 Hofstra in mid-September. Five different Tigers have tallied double-figure points, led by 18 from Gabi Juarez (seven goals, four assists). Tatum Gee is right behind with 14 points via five goals and four assists. Grace Barbara has started all but two games in goal, tallying a 1.06 goals against average and 75.0 save percentage.
Â
The Tigers hold a 20-0-1 edge in the all-time series with Lehigh. The draw came in 2009 via a 0-0 final. The last time they met, the Tigers won 4-0 at home in 2019.
Â
Following Tuesday's contest, the Mountain Hawks hit the road on Saturday for a big Patriot League showdown at American. Opening kickoff is set for 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
