Freshman Gabby Schneider paced Lehigh's offense with career highs in goals (4), assists (5) (tied) and points (9). The five assists were just one from tying the program record. The nine points were most by a Mountain Hawk since Courtney Henig last April at Bucknell. Schneider had seven points (three goals, four assists) by halftime.

Five other Mountain Hawks recorded multiple goals, including freshman Katia Carnevale who had two goals and two assists. Junior Cecily Redfern scored three times for her first-career hat trick while sophomore Maggie Kelly and freshmen Cassie Marte and Emma Eberhardt each scored twice. Marte's goals marked the first of her career.
Â
Junior Hannah Cermack helped pace the defensive effort with a career-high four caused turnovers. She added four draw controls. Redfern posted nine draw controls, just one from tying the program's single-game record.
Â
Monmouth controlled the early stages, going ahead 3-1, 6-3 and 7-4. That's when the Mountain Hawks took over, scoring seven straight goals over the final 16:24 of the first half. The run began with Carnevale's second of the game. Schneider assisted on the first three goals of the run. A little later, Kelly's second goal of the game with 3:26 on the clock put Lehigh ahead 11-7 at the half.

After a Monmouth goal just 1:04 into the second half, a 4-0 Lehigh run helped erase much doubt. Eberhardt began and ended the four-goal surge, the last coming off a fast break pass from senior Sondra Dickey which put Lehigh ahead 15-8. Monmouth scored three straight to pull within 15-11, and four of the final six overall, but could never get any closer than three.
Â
The Mountain Hawks finished with a 36-27 edge in shots and 21-17 advantage in groundballs. Monmouth held a 18-15 edge in draw controls. Junior Samantha Sagi made five saves over the first 40:53 before sophomore Kerry McHugh entered and stopped four of five shots over the final 19:07.
