Dickey named Patriot League Midfielder of the Week following impressive performances

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After filling up the stat sheet in a pair of contests, Lehigh women's lacrosse senior Sondra Dickey has been named Patriot League Midfielder of the Week, as announced on Monday. Dickey finished the week with 12 goals, three assists, eight draw controls, four groundballs and four caused turnovers to win her eighth-career Patriot League Midfielder of the Week award and first this season.
 
Dickey began the week with a career-high seven goals and career-high tying eight points in a 17-11 win at UMBC Tuesday. She also added four draw controls, two caused turnovers and a groundball, and was part of a defensive effort that held the Retrievers to just six first-half shots. Dickey on to post five goals, two assists, four draw controls, three groundballs and two caused turnovers at Penn State Saturday, having a hand in seven of the Mountain Hawks' nine goals. Defensively, the Mountain Hawks held the Nittany Lions scoreless for 16:47 in the second half. Lehigh held PSU to just one goal in the span of 22:51 and two over the game's final 25:08.  
For the season, Dickey owns a team-high 16 goals, 19 points, 12 draw controls (tied) and eight caused turnovers. With her eight draw controls, she upped her already program-record draw control total to 181 in her career.

Next up, the Mountain Hawks play their third straight road game when they travel to Vanderbilt on Saturday, Feb. 22 to face the Commodores. Gametime is set for 2 p.m. ET.
