QUAKERTOWN, Pa. – The Lehigh women's rowing team impressed in its final tune-up before the Patriot League Championship as the Mountain Hawks swept Delaware in all three races Saturday morning on Lake Nockamixon in Quakertown. Lehigh took home first in the Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight and Varsity Four to cap off a successful day.
"It was a fantastic day and a great way to end our season," said Lehigh head coach Brian Conley. "We raced really well and raced at the top of our game, which was fantastic to see going into championships. We're really looking forward to what speed we can find over these next couple days and hopefully be able to perform well at Patriots, take down a couple crews and walk away with some medals."
The Varsity Eight took first by exactly eight seconds, finishing in 7:01.43. The Second Varsity Eight had a margin of more than 13 seconds, finishing in 7:25.84. The Varsity Four captured first over a pair of Delaware crews, with Lehigh finishing in 8:04.38, more than two seconds ahead of either.
The Mountain Hawks now look ahead to the Patriot League Championship, which is 13 days away, on Friday, May 17 in Worcester, Mass (Lake Quinsigamond).
